Memories
Bob Freer
Denny and I were roommates in a house on Oceanfront in Newport Beach after leaving college. I'll always remember his red setter dog that would gladly climb into any surfer's car if a door was left open. Had been trying to get in touch with Denny over the years after we lost touch. So sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed. Bob Freer Dripping Springs, TX April 2010

My group of skiing buddies and I had the opportunity to meet Denny and Jeanne on a trip to Whistler in February 1997.  Denny was the in-town coordinator for the ski trip we booked through Tortuga Express.  Denny certainly went the extra mile in making sure our group had a great week.  On Friday, he an Jeanne gave us a guided tour of places on the Whistler-Blackcomb mountain that only a "local" would know.  I recall barely fitting through boulders on our way to one untouched powder in a bowl that hadn't been skied on in days. And yes, like Bonnie West in the Memory above, Denny humbled (in a very nice way) our group of high-end skiers with his effortless, excellent and fast paced skiing.  We really appreciated his guided tour and camraderie that Friday.  I even have a post card (yes, still 13 years later) from Denny and Jeanne thanking us for having left a pair of spring skiing gloves for Jeanne as our thank you for having offered us such a great week and day.  (The glove gift sounds corney but were were rich in spirit but poor in pocket book!)

I am sorry to have learned of Denny's passing earlier today and wish Jeanne and his daughter all the best.

I have been on at least 3 ski trips with Denny and worked with him to take over 250 people to Whistler and to Banff.  Once I tried to keep up with him down a pretty easy slope, but there was NO WAY! He went off like a shot!

As the group leader when I would ask him something, Denny was always there with the answer or found out and called back. Seems that is getting to be a rare thing with tour operators!

Love to your family.....
