This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Denny Bartlett who was born in Los Angeles and passed away on July 28, 2006 in Newport Beach. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
Denny attended Loara HS in Anaheim where he was a member of the varsity golf & tennis team. While in high school, he was also a charter member of the Snow Valley Race Club & later became a skit instructor at Snow Valley & eventually a PSIA Certified Ski Instructor. After graduating high school i 1966, he attended Fullerton Junior College & served in the National Guard for 6 years.
Denny enjoyed drag boat racing with his dad. He was the speedway motorcycle race known as " "Robin Hood". He quit speedway & began competitive water ski racing. Denny was a World Class Waterskier including many Long Beach-to Catalina races, numerous National Championship wins, 1/4 mile drag & marathon waterskier. He even travelled to Australia for the World Championships. When Denny wasn't water skiing, he was snow skiing. He was Canadian National Powder Eight Pairs Champion & even attended the World's competition. His true passion was golf (but skiing was right behind)  he played at least once a week. On his travels, his golf clubs were always with his.
From 1978-1999 Denny worked with his dad at Tortuga Express Tours, where he made many life-long friends. In 1994, after more than 3 years of serious illness, Denny was lucky enough to receive a liver transplant. The transplant allowed him to resume all his favorite activities, including surfing & meeting the love of his life.
He met Jeanne on a trip to Whistler in 1993, & they married in 1998.
They were blessed with their daughter, Riley in 2001. After leaving Tortuga her worked with Target Sport Adventures, & in 2004, started his own business, The Sporting Life.
He enjoyed being a member of the Long Beach Rec Park Men's Golf Club. He was a proud & #1 locker holder at Sea Cliff Country Club. And of course...#1 DAD
